I’ve always had a passion for working with my hands even from an early age, and find something so satisfying about taking raw materials and turning them into finished goods. Growing up in western society, I was inundated with ideas that told me I needed to buy more and spend less, how these are some of the keys to happiness. For a while, I bought into those ideas, but the older I get the more time
I wasted trying to fix or replace cheaply made items. What I realized was that not only did these things not bring me happiness, they were wasting my time and my money! Finally, I decided that I would not buy these cheap , uninspired (and sometimes unethically sourced and manufactured) items. From now on, I want quality, even if it costs way more than I was used to paying. I’d rather cringe once, save up for a while and have a product for life that I admire for its functionality, beauty and durability. After acquiring some of these handcrafted items, it dawned on me that I had the skills needed to design and make my own items, but without the overhead of other larger companies and can transfer those savings on to others. I get to work with my hands and make beautiful products and others can save some cost buying direct from me. Design Philosophy
Everything you see on my site has been designed and made by me. I find inspiration from all around: everything from nature to blog posts, to fellow craftsman and artisans. Then I take my ideas to paper and try to tweak them to be as functional as possible. Having received my formal education as an engineer, I love trying to figure out how things are made. I appreciate the beauty of design, form that follows function and grew to an understanding that when you start with high quality materials, its easy to end up with a high quality product. Recently I’ve be fascinated with the minimalist movement and its been a huge influence in the way I live my life and in the things that I create. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look around! I hope you decide to let me craft a product for you to enjoy for years to come.
