Swipe for Before and After
This is a project that needed the dated kitchen updated but the clients didn’t have a large budget as they had other projects they wanted to complete in the home. So instead of a full kitchen makeover we re-lacquered the cabinets and installed new more modern style doors and handles. We replaced the oak raised panel doors with white beveled shaker style doors and installed a new Carrara marble-look laminate countertop. We also added crown moulding and updated the corbels and panel underneath the back of the island to be more updated and sleeker.
A few more functional changes were made as well. There was never a hood fan installed over the range. A new cabinet was made to accommodate one and be the appropriate height for fire code. A new upper was created to make the microwave look more built-in. A gable was added beside the fridge and the cabinet above brought out closer to the face of the fridge. This eliminated needing to get a step stool to reach those doors and increased the storage space above. Now all the clutter that is always on top of everyone’s fridge is enclosed and the refrigerator looks more built-in as well. All these changes make this remodel look like an entirely new kitchen rather than using most of what the clients already had. This turned out to be such a beautiful kitchen re-face!
