Maple Waterfall Table | Oaktail Woodworks

Just wrapped up my second maple waterfall table — and this one turned out exactly how I envisioned it. The continuous grain flow over the edge is what makes this design stand out. Clean lines, solid joinery, and a form that lets the wood speak for itself.

Finished with Sansin Gel Stain in Brazil Sands to warm up the maple, then sealed with OSMO Clear Coat (Matte) for a natural, durable finish that keeps the surface looking like wood — not plastic.

Boards typically enter the kiln after air-seasoning and are brought down slowly and evenly to below 10% moisture content—ideal for interior furniture, cabinetry, and finish work. Controlled heat, airflow, and humidity help reduce warping, checking, and mold while improving overall stability.
