We're rebuilding FreedomSponsors with AngularJS and material design. Wanna help?
http://blog.freedomsponsors.org/a-new-technological-direction-for-freedomsponsors/

My intention is for FreedomSponsors to have a really friendly development environment that more people can work on, while also serving as an example of a high quality architecture for a web app. That way, I can help other web developers, and also get more help from the community to build FS because…

This week Latinoware is happening in Foz do Iguaçu. It is a huge conference about all things Free/Open Source Software.
Jon Maddog is here and he talked about Linaro's big project to port 1400 applications to the new ARM processor's architecture - which can only be carried out with the help of a crowd of programmers! Want to learn more? Check out the project's website: http://performance.linaro.org

Contributing to FreedomSponsors has just become easier: we now have short tutorials that walk you through the setup process.
Let me know what you think about it in the comments!

On this video series, I explain how to set up a development environment to contribute to FreedomSponsors. This should also be useful in other contexts too (assuming you want to learn more about Python and Django)

TL;DR: Due to the recent attacks to bitcoin network [1], we had to temporarily disable Bitcoin payments. Please bear with us.

Detailed explanation:

During the last couple of days the Bitcoin network has been under heavy DDoS attacks.
Those attacks forced MtGox (and some other Bitcoin exchange services) to halt bitcoin transactions temporarily while they are working together with core developers to solve the issue.

FreedomSponsors use Blockchain.info's bitcoin RPC API to proccess transactions.
Blockchain.info did not halt transactions but they made some changes to their API behaviour in a preventive effort to avoid being affected by those attacks.
Those changes have broken the code in our side and we're working to sort it out. Until then you won't be able to make any payments using Bitcoin.
You can watch progress on our corresponding issue on Github [2]

We sorry for the inconvenience.
Also, we want you to know that we believe there's no need for anyone to panic.
This whole deal will most likely be resolved soon, and Bitcoin will come out of it even stronger than before :-)

Cheers
Tony Lâmpada - the FreedomSponsors guy
