Materials: Balsa wood, wood stain, corrugated carton, MDF, spray paint

The models showcase the two buildings we've worked on for this project, located in Narvik, Norway. One is an old coal storage that we’ve restored, adding a new internal structure to support the original timber facade. The other is a new addition to the site, where we worked with the same principles as the coal storage to create something more temporary, yet still sharing the timeless qualities of the original building.

The models show the conversation between the two buildings, highlighting the interesting dynamics that can emerge from restoring what is already built and learning from it when designing something new.
