The SL58 chair was designed in 1958 by Léon Stynen for the World Expo in Brussels. Built on the principle that form follows function, the chair combines a veneered seat with elegant bent steel legs, creating a design where every detail serves a purpose.
Although Stynen was primarily known for his architectural work, the SL 58 became a rare and iconic piece within his oeuvre. In 2016, Bulo reintroduced the chair, carefully adapting its proportions to contemporary ergonomics while remaining faithful to the original design.
Tania Wolski, granddaughter of Léon Stynen continues his legacy through research, publications, and collaborations that highlight his architectural and design work.
Today, the SL 58 lives on through new materials and interpretations, including the SLL 18, a lighter version designed for outdoor use and available in vibrant colors. A chair that proves true design remains timeless.
