Much of my work begins with something that already exists.
An old stone tile. A discarded piece of wood. Leftover textiles from the studio.
I keep things. I collect them. Not out of nostalgia, but because I am drawn to the traces they carry: texture, wear, history, imperfection.
Through pigment, paint, fire, stitching, carving, or simply a shift in context, these materials or objects are transformed into something new. Not erased, but continued.
I like the idea that objects can have more than one life. That beauty can be found not only in creating, but also in noticing what is already there
