Joanne Odisho Awarded the Australian Furniture Design Award 2026 •
As part of Melbourne Design Week, the and Stylecraft are pleased to announce the winner of the Australian Furniture Design Award (AFDA), as Joanne Odisho for their entry Mod-u.

As one of Australia's most prestigious furniture design awards, AFDA recognises excellence in furniture design and its contribution to design discourse and Australian culture. In addition to a $20,000 cash prize, Joanne will receive support from Stylecraft for design, production and distribution.

A lamp that adapts with you, Mod-u grows, shrinks, and changes in response to the evolving ways people inhabit compact, ever-shifting spaces. The design responds directly to the 2026 theme of Living Well Living Small - challenging designers to enhance comfort, functionality, and wellbeing in compact Australian homes through intelligent use of space and a commitment to conscious, future-oriented living.

Mod-u is cast from eggshell composites, handmade from thousands of eggshells collected from local cafes, and set alongside Unryu Thai paper-wrapped bio-filament blocks. Both biodegradable and beautiful, the lamp embodies material honesty and sustainable rigour.

AFDA is part of Melbourne Design Week 2026, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV. The Australian Furniture Design Award competition is developed and delivered by City Lab.

Celebrating the Arrival of Butter by Tacchini •
Stylecraft is excited to welcome the Butter Lounge designed by Faye for . To celebrate we hosted a launch evening with friends from the design community in our StylecraftHOME Melbourne and Sydney showrooms, allowing the collection to be experienced first-hand.

The Butter Modular Lounge is the result of an unconventional, instinctive process, originally modelled from a slab of Cornish butter and shaped by hand. The outcome is a modular lounge that feels deeply human, generous in its proportions, and soft in its form. Butter invites you to sit, lean, gather, or simply melt into it. The design has since earned international recognition, receiving the EDIDA 2026 award in the Seating category, affirming its place within contemporary design.

Available exclusively through Stylecraft in Australia, Butter is now on display at StylecraftHOME in Melbourne and Sydney.

Butter by Faye for •
Butter is a sculptural modular lounge system built on large volumes reminiscent of building blocks, defined by butter-soft upholstery that appears to melt across its form. Originally modelled from a slab of Cornish butter, the design reflects Toogood's playful, hands-on process, shaped through touch and experimentation.

Awarded the EDIDA 2026 award in the Seating category by the 25 Editors-in-Chief of Elle Decor International, and recently expanded at Milan Design Week with new additions including a 3-seater lounge, armchair, ottoman, low table and storage cabinet.

Part of the Bread and Butter collection for Tacchini, it sits alongside the Bread Side Table, together evoking the quiet beauty of everyday objects reimagined through Toogood's unconventional design process.

Butter is a sculptural, squashy, modular sofa. Generous, butter-soft upholstery melts across oversized building block structures that can be curated and rearranged to your taste.

You're Invited to Discover AFDA this Melbourne Design Week at Stylecraft •
Australia's most significant furniture & lighting prize, founded by Stylecraft and presented in collaboration with the , the Australian Furniture Design Award (AFDA) celebrates the most innovative furniture and lighting design being created in this country - now in its sixth iteration.

This year's finalists bring their realised designs in response to the theme Living Well, Living Small, to our ground floor showroom for exhibition and judging throughout Melbourne Design Week. The winner receives a $20,000 cash prize and the opportunity to develop a commercial range with Stylecraft.

Ascend to Level One to experience the latest innovation in Australian design and a layered story of living and working well. Featuring locally designed and made furniture and lighting by renowned designers , Tom Skeehan (), and . The collection is headlined by the latest lounge releases from Helen Kontouris, Adhoc.
