The great news is when you buy art at this show, you'll be supporting local artists and ... because the festival is run by the Austinmer Thirroul Lions Club, any profits are poured back into community projects.

In the pink! Here I am at Thirroul. They've been supporting the by being involved in Art in the Shops - a prelude to the big event 31 May - 1 June 25. I've got a few pieces in the Art Show this weekend at the Thirroul Community Centre. There's over 360 pieces on show. It's just a gold coin donation to enter and all the art is for sale. Anyway ... please support the shops like Delish Acai by stopping in and buying something.

I LOVE colour, so a monochrome painting is a bit different for me. What can I say ... it's on trend. So this little black diamond coast will be on sale at the at the end of this month. It has gloss & matt features and three dimensional texture, add an ethereal moon and voila!

Well it’s almost that time of the year again … Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival is on 31 May & 1 June. I’ve been busy getting together some art to sell at the Art exhibition and at Art in the Shops. The latter starts 16 May and runs for 2 weeks. I digress. I’m entering this photo of a Maui lifeguard tower in the art exhibition. MARBELLOUS! I've been hiding this one away for a while because it was a gift. I used resin and black crushed mirror glass on a 40cm piece of acrylic. It has hints of navy and has a wonderful marble look to it (thus the name). I hope it enjoys its new home in Canada.

Take a look at Milk Opal. Subtle and icy beautiful. It changes colours depending on the light. Online doesn't do it justice. So head down to the Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival's Art in the Shops. You'll find Milk Opal in the window of Horizon Bank. Take a walk around Thirroul between now and 2 June to see other artist's pieces. I've got some at Thirroul Pharmacy and Miriam Groves Dentist (King St) as well. All for sale.

OPAL ... Well this one has taken me a long time to do. A lot of thinking, a practice piece, many many layers of resin but I think I achieved what I set out do. I wanted to emulate blue opal. This is a biggie. 75cm. It's just been accepted as an entry in the Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival Art Exhibition (first weekend in June 2024 www.thirroulfestival.com.au for more info). It will be on sale there too. So, did I nail it? ... or do I have some more thinking to do?

I spent a couple of weeks in New Zealand as was inspired by that beautiful country. I've incorporated paua shell in this piece. Can you spot them?
