It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything on this page. I’ve been flatout working on our house.

With Jo’s help, ideas and suggestions and a lot of work we’ve changed our house from where everything is chucked wherever, to a house we absolutely love and are so proud of! We are even thinking of having abit of an open day to show it off! Thanks again Jo - Style Me, styling, interiors, food and photography

I’m a fan LA! Everyone seems to be having a good time. Must be all the taco and food trucks around! 😉⁣

We’ve been here for about 12 hours and the last photo is a strong image of how I feel after a day of tacos, ice cream and beers! ⁣

Definitely keen to come back here for longer next time!⁣

Have you been to LA? What did you think?⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

I was contacted by Colleen from 15 Trees early last year to see if I was interested in doing an ‘Eco Deal’. I make a large serving board and in return she would plant 100 trees through her business Fifteen Trees.

This was one of the only jobs that I had time to do this year and I’m so stoked that I was asked to be a part of this.

Everyday there are more fires and more bad news about the climate crisis. At the time of making this board and doing the ‘Eco Deal’ I thought it was a great idea, but now after the last couple of weeks I’m realising it was more than just a little board swap for some trees.

Seeing all of the stories, photos and videos of the fires, listening to the radio and hearing the horrific effects of these fires that are ripping through the country, I’m feeling pretty bloody hopeless.

Incase you haven’t heard or seen, these are some of the stats - So far at least 18 people have been killed, over 6,000,000 hectares of land burnt, over 2,500 buildings including 1300 homes destroyed. This doesn’t include animals, live stock and native animals that have died during the fires.

This year through my side business of Birdwood Co Designs and my main business of Henna Street Picture Framers, I’m wanting to do more of these ‘Eco-deals’. If you own a small or large business or even if you just want to help in some way contact Colleen at 15trees. The memberships sell out quickly so get in quick!

Every now and then, when I see something amazingly fabulous ... I wonder if I can do an eco-deal! Trees in exchange for goods or services. Jack is the founder of Birdwood Co Designs, Warrnambool. At Birdwood, he makes the most beautiful custom made furniture and platters. Jack's ambition

Hope everyone has had a great Easter with family and friends! .
For those who don’t know, myself Jack and Ella have purchased Henna Street Picture Framers here in . .
Ella herself has worked at the picture framers for the last 7 years part time and will keep running .art weekdays as well as continuing doing her art. .
I myself, am a carpenter by trade and spent last year starting up making furniture from reclaimed timber. .
We are both extremely excited to work with existing and new customers from Warrnambool and surrounding districts!
Tomorrow is our first day so come in and say g’day! 😃🖼

Thanks for the photo mate! Had no idea you snagged this👌

Riki Fox gave me a call and asked if I could cut these 70mm thick x 4m Norfolk Pine slabs down to a more manageable size and to cut square edges on them so they can be used as bench tops.
Once they are all cleaned up, sanded back and oiled they are going to look sweet!
Thanks Warrick from Forrest & Garden Tree Services for giving passing my number on. 👍

I’m baaaack! 😃🤙
I’ve been running around flatout for the last month, doing my Mum’s house up to get it on the market. Full style but without and checking up on me every day.
And yep that’s my granny helping me move furniture 💪 and .the.gsp getting in as much way as he can 👍
Been a monster job, 6 bedrooms, kitchen and dining room, 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets, laundry and 2 lounge rooms 😱 ! I’ve patched holes and dents in plaster, I’ve painted every room, arcs, skirts, doors, and the ceiling, replaced silicon and grout in the bathrooms and kitchen, lined the garage ceiling with ply, put in new electric garage doors, replaced the two front gables, had the carpet replaced, replaced all of the lights, light switches and power points, fixed gates and co-ordinated all of the other tradies I’ve had do work there.
I definitely wouldn’t have got it finished without the help from the rest of the family, cleaning up after me, helping move furniture, offering encouragement, painting, feeding me, holding the other end of the tape measure and making the house look sooo good for the photos! How good has it been styled🔥👌
Cheers to all the other tradies that have helped out in getting the house looking 10/10👌! .

for helping with lining the garage and the plaster.

I need to get a pizza oven!

To finish off the pizza paddle run down, I sand it up to 180grit, I then pour Gillys oil onto it and rub it in. After it’s dried, give it a quick wipe to get rid of any dust and repeat. That’s it. Pack’er up bois, stand back and enjoy what you’ve made knowing that you’ve created something that is sexy as f*ck, will hopefully last a long time and you’ve saved all of those timber offcuts from being thrown into a hole.

I was hoping to post these pictures and vid last night but I fell asleep before I could write my standard 10,000 word essay post!
This is in no way the only way to make a pizza board and I’m still learning but this is a quick run down of how I finish my pizza boards.
So after cutting out the board, I shape it using the Arbotech turboplane. This rips through the majority of timber and then I finish the main shaping with the belt sander with really coarse paper. I keep swapping between the Turbo plane and belt sander until I’ve got a shape that I’m happy with and feels nice to hold. I try to get a point on the edge but not too thin as it will become weak.

I finish off sanding with the orbital sander and then give the whole thing a good hand sand at 180 grit, any more and the board gets too smooth and is hard to hang onto.
