DA submitted. Additions and alterations to an existing aged care facility. Sewell Design was tasked with the responsibility of designing a new identifiable entrance to the existing facility as well as a new waiting and reception area, administrative areas, lunch room, commercial kitchen, palliative care suites, outdoor deck and dedicated emergency vehicle parking. We are certain this design will improve the function and flow of the existing whilst providing new and improved areas for both residents and guests.

DA submitted. This new family home is designed to meet the specific needs and requirements our clients requirements. A contrasting material palette of brick and prefinished metal ensure a durable and robust exterior suitable to withstand a rural environment. Large, raked ceilings are a feature of this design with triangular highlight glazing to capture extensive rural views on offer.

Design progress – materiality exploration. Our clients brief – “provide us with a resort style inspired design that feels like we are on holidays when we are at home”. Our response - capture the essence of resort style living which includes the creation of a relaxing, luxurious and immersive sanctuary by designing and incorporating landscaped courtyard spaces, large glazing areas to seamlessly transition between the outside and in, a large vaulted ceiling height to the centralised main living area and a natural material choice that incorporates a palette of render, stone and timber. Design in progress. This large rural family home features 6 bedrooms + guest bedroom, triple and double garage, generous main living, dining, kitchen and rumpus room. A ‘H’ shaped design was considered best to split ‘wings’ of the design into specific related and private areas. A north / south orientation joins the wings of the design through the central axis where the main living areas are located. A large alfresco area that can be opened and enclosed with bifold doors and incorporates two fireplaces provides flexibility and space to entertain.

Commercial re-design & fitout complete. Congratulations to Intellifleet on the conversion of an existing building into a fit for purpose office space. Sewell Design was engaged to provide a design solution to an existing building that had to provide for an expanding technical workforce. Sewell Design was able to optimise the existing footprint of the building to conceive a layout conducive to effective workflows and interactions. Large existing ceiling heights provided the opportunity for increased volumes and sense of space particularly in areas like conference and board rooms. To mitigate acoustic reverberation and to provide acoustic attenuation, Autex acoustic ceiling fins and wall linings were specified and provide a contrasting aesthetic. Staff breakout areas and informal gathering / collaboration spaces were given high importance in the design as to the formalised office and technical spaces.

DA submitted. A modern contemporary family home designed to the specific requirements of our clients brief. This design features 4 bedrooms and an office, two living areas and a triple garage. The main bedroom is located on the first floor and is accompanied by an oversized walk-in robe and ensuite. We look forward to seeing this one achieving development approval.

Commercial re-design & fitout complete. Congratulations to AKW on the conversion of a historic building into a fit-for-purpose office and meeting space. Large open light filled volumes, clerestory windows, rustic brick and exposed timber trusses influence the design aesthetic with a juxtaposition of use and space. Sewell Design worked in conjunction with AKW to find a design solution that provides a combination of open and private spaces that provide connection without the compromise of function and flow.
