Semiconductors (transistors, diodes etc) are not used in the audio signal path of Fade To Grey amp designs. The customer has the option of valve or semiconductor based amp power supplies. Fade To Grey offers customization of products without charging additionally for this service, with the understanding that a custom requested design might also be offered as a product of Fade To Grey to other customers. In this way a product range can be built up that will hopefully fulfill the common needs of other musicians or music lovers. Fade To Grey are also willing to build unusual systems. Fade To Grey also offers modifications on existing hand-wired guitar/bass amps in order to e.g. improve the warmth, increase the overdrive, replace the existing cabinet, build an amp head into a combo, turn a combo into a head and separate speaker cabinet. Fade To Grey also performs valve replacement, testing & biasing in existing amplifiers. Finally, Fade To Grey is also happy to build valve based Hi Fi preamps/amps of either open or enclosed design.
