Stripping the ugly away

Can you hear the disbelief in my voice? 😂 I was NOT impressed that the st****er didn’t get it all off. A lot more scraping and sanding than I’d hoped for, but the end result made it all worth it 🤎

And… she’s FINALLY done! 😂🙌

The amount of back and forth in my mind over this piece 😂 I couldn’t stop thinking about it because I just hated the top half. Every time I walked past, I’d find myself staring at it, trying to work out what it needed.

Adding the trim up the top finally brought it all together and balanced out the scalloped base. I also moved the handles up from their original lower position, which really helped draw the eye up and balance everything out.

Small details can make such a big difference 🤎 Now that it’s finished, I actually really love how it’s turned out.

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and helped me along the way. You’re the real OGs 😂🫶

And of course, I’ve sealed it with Wise Owl Paint Matte Clear Top Coat from Furniture Paint Shop | Wise Owl Paint AU | Furniture & Cabinet !

What do you think of the finished piece? 🤎

A little “you’re in luck” moment 🤍

My client spotted another set of Queen Anne bedsides I had for sale and asked about having a pair painted for her daughter’s bedroom. As luck would have it, I had these waiting in the shed for their turn!

We added some delicate trim to frame the drawers and finished them in Natural White, with little antique-style k***s to bring it all together.

Such a sweet, timeless pair, ready for their new home 🤍

Tell me this isn’t satisfying to watch 👀
