Kate’s order, off to Berrima last week.

Two Alos, one milking stool we made, and the half-moon console we restored.

We said we’d never restore another chair.

Chair restorations are a nightmare compared to most furniture.

The old finish is tough to remove, and then there are all those spindles, turned legs and tiny corners to sand by hand.

It takes forever.

But this one was a little different.

She’s been coming back to us for years — Bobbin Stool, Whimsy rotating board, Alo… and now another Alo.

This time, she also asked us to bring this old chair back to life.

So we did.

And now we’re saying it again… this is the last one.😅

Finished these two this week, and they’re both off to different homes.

Really happy with how they turned out. I especially love the turned bobbin legs and the stretcher.

They’d make a pretty good spot by the front door for putting your shoes on too.

Put these two together today and had to take a few photos.

Still need to trim the wedges, level the legs and give them their finish, so there’s a bit to go. But I already like them like this.

A little while ago, Nida reached out and asked if she could photograph one of our pieces.

We sent her our Bobbin stool, and what came back was such a beautiful collection of images.😊

It’s quite a special feeling to see something we made through someone else’s eyes. The way Nida captured the stool in her home, the light, the quiet everyday moments — there’s so much warmth in every photo.
