Some helpful advice on sleeping

I’ve had people coming to me for Feng Shui advice for their bedrooms, saying they have sleep problems. When they do, I ask them: what have you tried so far?

While Feng Shui can guide you on the positioning of your sleeping area, that’s just half the battle. You can’t sabotage your own sleep health and expect to fix it with just Feng Shui. That’s just common sense.

Examine your behaviour first. Try your best to do cultivate these habits.
- Don’t look at screens (blue light) right before going to bed. 📱
- Don’t eat heavy meals too soon before bed. 🍛
- Sleep at roughly the same time every night. Not too late! 🕙
- Don’t cheap out on a mattress and pillow if it affects your sleep. 🛏️
- Control your intake of coffee and alcohol at night. 🍺

If you find yourself always tired during the day, it’s time to adjust your habits. How else are you going to be productive?

Health symptoms are one of the most often raised problems during a Feng Shui Consultation.
When your environmental Qi or your personal Qi is affected in a negative way, it can produce symptoms affecting your body.
We can look at several areas to ascertain a possible cause just by being aware of the symptom.
On a simple level, using the attached table, let’s say that you have started having problems with your teeth and mouth. Ask yourself “what has changed in the West, externally or internally”. It could be as simple as clearing the hallway in the West that has become the dumping area for boxes. When the Qi cannot move freely throughout the environment, there will be blockages that cause disturbing effects to you. Think ‘garden hose’ “What happens when you unblock the kink in a hose, the water flows freely”.

Feng Shui Tip for April 2018

April 5 to May 4 is the Dragon Month. The most favourable Feng Shui tip I can share with you relates to your health, both your physical and emotional health.

If your bedroom is located in the WEST of your home then it would be a fabulous period to move out of this location and relocate to the SOUTH WEST for a couple of months. “Move out of our bedroom” you say. Think of it as going on a fantastic holiday, a new experience … changing your environment can have amazing benefits to your health and relationship.

People are generally experiencing changes to their health after spending a lot of time in the WEST this year (more colds, flu and lack of sleep) and this is mainly due to the type of Feng Shui energy that resides in this location during 2018.

When we enter the Dragon month of April, the Feng Shui energy this brings to the WEST will add to the existing energy and can have a detrimental effect on your health and well-being, especially the areas of the chest, lungs, colon and the mouth.

In our home, we are moving to the SOUTH WEST bedroom for a couple of months because the Feng Shui energy that resides in that area and the monthly energy that combines with it for the next two months, can bring all kinds of luck and success ….. In Feng Shui this is known as being proactive with our ‘Human Qi’. Human Qi is the qi that we have control of and it makes up one third of the Universal Cosmic Trinity … viz. Heaven Luck, Earth Luck and Human Luck. More on the Cosmic Trinity soon ….

I had the extreme pleasure of finalising two Feng Shui consultations yesterday. With the approval of both of the owners, a small business and a private apartment, I undertook the beautiful Balinese blessing and cleansing ceremony. The most appropriate date for clearing was chosen and the hour brings with it “happiness and contentment in life”.
Sacred space clearing supports Classical Feng Shui and is designed to cleanse and consecrate the energy in our physical space. I include the space clearing ceremony in my Residential and Business Feng Shui Consultations to enhance and activate the energy within your space and bring it back to life.
