Eight chairs. One family. And a fairly ambitious wish.

This beautiful collection of Alron dining chairs didn’t begin as a matching set of eight. Different backs, different seats, different rails and around 60 years of life had left their mark.

The goal was to bring them together as one cohesive family.

That meant sacrificing and reshaping some of the existing backs to create matching profiles, crafting and shaping new seats, matching rails and repairing the inevitable stress fractures we uncovered along the way.

And we were reminded of one of furniture restoration’s little truths:

Just because something is beautifully designed doesn’t necessarily mean it was beautifully engineered. 😬

There were challenges. There was head scratching. There may have been an unreasonable amount of heavy breathing.

But the result?

Eight strong, beautifully restored Alron chairs that finally look as though they were always meant to belong together.

Danish icon restored. ✨

This Hans J. Wegner GE-258 daybed, manufactured by GETAMA in 1956, came to us ready for another chapter.

Authenticated by Great Dane Furniture, this beautiful oak piece has now been carefully restored and reupholstered, bringing its clean lines, clever daybed design and timeless proportions back to life.

Seventy years old, and still effortlessly cool.

Creative Cait saw a sculptural silhouette waiting for its personality. Totally her!!

She chose Schumacher Tutsi Green and transformed a simple black chair into something unforgettable. Geo, neon and playful. The sort of chair that refuses to disappear quietly into the corner.

Time had done what time does. The webbing had stretched, the seat had lost its support and while the original blue had served its purpose, it was ready for a fresh chapter

Not every restoration needs a dramatic colour change. Sometimes it’s about keeping the soul of a piece while making it feel wonderful to live with again.
New webbing straps are what make this sofa comfortable for the next 20 years.

A little AI. A lot of craftsmanship.

One of the hardest parts of reupholstery isn’t the upholstery.

It’s helping clients picture the finished result.

A fabric sample and a length of fringe can look very different once they’re wrapped around a chair.

Before we committed to the restoration, we used AI to create a concept image of the client’s fabric selection. It gave them the confidence to move forward, knowing the investment would suit both the chair and their home.

The AI didn’t choose the fabric.
It didn’t upholster the chair.
And it certainly didn’t spend hours rebuilding it.

It simply gave us a window into what was possible.

The craftsmanship? That’s still 100% human.
