Lionel Rose, born on June 21, 1948, in Jacksons Track, Victoria, was a trailblazing Australian boxer who made history by becoming the first Indigenous Australian to win a world title. In 1968, he secured the undisputed WBA, WBC, and The Ring bantamweight titles, defeating Japan's Fighting Harada in Tokyo.
