For those who don't me personally - here's a little info about TLD and myself.
My name is Toby Laing Debelak and I'm a young, passionate woodworker. I started TLD 5 years ago with some simple power tools making cutting boards and it has now expanded into a fully equipped, furniture making workshop. I spend as much time as I can in my studio and am doing everything I can to make it my career. For 2020, I'm aiming to learn more skills (both in craft and business) and reach more people while still being an affordable option for everyone. I'm not too fussed about money and would always rather be building a piece for someone for little financial gain than them buying a poor quality product and throwing it away after one year.
Focusing on the task at hand can be hard when your workplace is at the back of your home or when a friend comes around for a chat, but I can't really complain walking 6m every morning to work. I enjoy working with wood so immensely and would rather be working for myself, constantly in a state of financial flux than to be working somewhere I don't enjoy.
I'm always grateful to my friends and family who provide constant support (and jobs) when moral is low. I feel like every new customer becomes a friend and so the TLD family is constantly growing.
Everytime you purchase something from myself or another small business you support the individuals who love what they're doing and make their aspirations one step closer.
