El Dorado Farm Visits

El Dorado Farm Visits We are now part of the Hipcamp Group. Campers must be self sufficient. El dorado is a small property 35km north of Roma.

Catch the bus at the information centre and travel out to view the ancient grasstrees. Learn a little about how this family makes use of the family holding that has been their family for over 100 years. View and even get up close to some of the farm animals. Grab a "cuppa" and lunch ( pumpkin soup, some famous Ladbrooks sausages, quiche, sandwiches and fruit) and wander through the large garden.

View some wonderful petrified wood pieces that form part of the garden beds. Take in a little of the pioneering history and just relax.

With plenty of grass in their newly cleared paddock and fat cows, these babies will stay with mum for a few more weeks. Normally we would be taking them off too, but have changed strategy. We have so many lovely options for picking replacement heifers this year.

We are very pleased with our latest weaners. Of course they wouldn’t pose properly. There are a couple of dry cows in the yards waiting for sale. Lovely big soft calves that are broad and flat on top.
