The Anatomy of a Kitchen Restoration. This magnificent solid Oak Kitchen was showing its age, and no better time than the present to give it a clean and polish. First all the loose panels are removed, then the cabinetry is protected to allow us to strip sand and spray the fixed panelling in the home. The loose panels are completed in the workshop and then returned to its rejuvenated framework. New Hafele brushed aluminium bar handles and plynths give this kitchen a contemporary touch!

Small jobs come along every now and then, but that doesn't mean their end results don't have a big impact! This solid Oak Sewing Cabinet and Mahogany Duchess Mirror have been granted the special treatment they deserve to make them come alive. A big thank you to the patient staff at Elite Upholstery in Bayswater for painstakingly recreating the pleated curtain to make this furniture a real showpiece!

It is not often we get to refurbish Board Room Tables, however in this instance, this one presented somewhat of a challenge. Not that this project was going to stop us! The damaged edges we removed and replaced with solid Mahogany (many thanks to Versailles Fine Furniture in Bulleen) to frame the veneer and protect the edges from further impact. The end result is truly spectacular!

In our previous post, the Auto Trolley also has a Sitting Room companion. This abstract Bookcase caught the eye of the client in an Oppourtunity Shop and with a little bit of TLC (code for completely dismantled and rebuilt!) we have given it a new home for some heartwarming fire side story telling all of its own accord.

Restored furniture will bring so much satisfaction to so many. This Auto trolley is just another fine example of what can be done with furniture that seems destined to become next winters firewood. Dismantled, rebuilt, with new ply and castors supplied by Graeme Brown Antiques, this will certainly make a striking entrance at the their next High Tea . Scones anyone?

When it comes to restoring furniture, the only limit is your imagination! The client chose to give these Mahogany Side Tables a contemporary touch by using Dulux Mocha Pearl to match their existing interior finishes with incredible results. A big shout out to Eastern Auto Paints in Bayswater for their hard work in manufacturing an acrylic paint to make these tables come to life.

Staircases come in many shapes and sizes, and this beautiful example is no exception. Stained and polished by the previous owner, the Ash Treads and landings were carefully removed (and replaced with dummy treads to allow upstairs access) stripped, sanded and clear coated to let the natural color shine. A true reflection of the beauty of natural timber.

Cedar 8 Drawer Chest. This is the second Chest of Drawers to come in in as many weeks. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the intricate grain characteristics of Cedar shine once they have been polished. Like a fingerprint, they seem to have their own individual identity. One of a kind.
