An eight day oak and mahogany Welsh long case clock by J. Lehman of Swansea dates to the 19th century and features a beautifully figured and inlaid case, Swan neck pediment and an elaborate hand painted dial.
The dial has certainly seen better days but the surviving decoration including the pastoral scene in the arch, landscape details, subsidiary seconds dial and calendar gives a wonderful glimpse of how striking this Clock would’ve been when new.
This clock came to us after it had been subjected to grey water exposure and missing mahogany veneers around the base.
The clock has been de contaminated, cleaned, Veneers repaired and the original French Polishing and waxed.

A pair of Australian made rocking chairs from the 1940’s that had had a rough life which you can see in the last photo.
Now completely restored. Timber French polished, new springs and re upholstered in Warwick Beachcomber Atlantic. Now good for a few more decades.

Another fascinating piece of history brought back to life.
This beautifully crafted antique nursery chair is a clever dual-purpose design, transforming from a high chair into a low chair and into a child’s rocking chair with a simple movement of its ingenious geared mechanism.
Carefully restored while preserving its original character with fresh shellac and wax polish.
Furniture like this is a wonderful reminder that great craftsmanship and practical design have always gone hand in hand.

This magnificent late Regency/William IV mahogany pedestal sideboard circa 1825-1835, with its beautifully figured veneers, shell crestings, spiral columns and carved lions paw feet, has been carefully restored and French polished before being delivered to the Moonee Valley Racing Club’s Legends Venue. It’s always a privilege to work on furniture of this calibre and help preserve a small piece of history for future generations.
This stunning sideboard has taken up residence at the Legends Venue Cnr Thomas st and Wilson st in Moonee ponds
