The A.O (Artisan Object) chair has evolved over many years, following the Japanese practice of Senren, ‘continuous improvement’. A stainless steel 3 legged structure with handcrafted details, including the Japanese Oak seat and backrest. A slimline leather cushion that fits perfectly with the seat curves is also available (black or camel).

Handcrafted from the highest-quality Japanese Oak finished in natural oil, black or soap finish. Elemental House is a four-year new build in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and featured in Australia’s Vogue Living. Led by Studio Director Jessica Gombault of Alexandra Kidd Interior Design, in collaboration with architect Marcellino Sain of M.A.R.S and builder Cumberland Building, the home unfolds as a vertical journey from earth to sky. Grounded and weighty at its base, it gradually becomes lighter, calmer and more open as it rises through four levels towards the treetops.

The name Triood comes from “Tribe Wood” and was inspired by a primitive African chair the designers discovered. The robust structure with wide seat and exquisite craftsmanship is homage to their affection for ancient cultures. The chairs are stackable and have the option of a seat cushion.

Handcrafted from the highest-quality Nara timbers, the same timber used in the 300-year-old Horyu-ji temple,
and prized for its dense, narrow annual rings and strength, beautiful colour, lustre and mellow scent.

1926 saw Ludwig Mies van der Rohe design, with a single brushstroke, what many considered to be the most beautiful chair of the 20th century. The first springy cantilever of its kind, the Weissenhof, with its nickel-plated steel tube frame is elegant and unique. It was designed with (D42) and without (B42) arm rests.

The wicker seat and back have been reproduced from historical documents and handwoven in Germany following the design originally created by Lilly Reich, Mies van der Rohe’s personal and professional collaborator for over 10 years. The family of Lilly Reich has authorised and certified the reissue. Frame handmade and wickerwork handwoven to order in Germany and part of the TECTA collection. Accredited by the Bauhaus Archives in Berlin.

Mobília Puro. A new international perspective on Brazilian modernism.

The São Francisco range is designed for comfort, inspired by traditional club chairs. Featuring a distinctive semi-hexagonal shape, with a fabric interior and an outer covering of ‘pony’ leather; the ’pony’ leather results from a cow hide shaved to resemble the texture of horse hair. The final result can be a refined or more textured finish. The process allows for the upholstery to be customised for a tailored solution, with each piece approved by the client prior to being completed. Available in three sofa sizes as well as an armchair.

The ‘pony’ outer covering can be substituted for a traditional leather finish. The sofa can also be fully upholstered in fabric with contrasting textures. The choice of materials creates endless possibilities that are nearly impossible to replicate, making each piece unique. Stainless steel base adds shine and lightness, contrasting with the sofa’s robustness.

One the most important seats of the 20th century?
Clement Meadmore thought so, and so has the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, including it in their design collection.

Challenged by a request from photographer Otto Stupakoff for a chair that allowed him to ‘spread out like a sultan’ in his studio, Rodrigues responded with the ‘Mole’, the Portuguese word for ‘soft’; his iconic classic that expressed Brazil in design and identity.

In 1961 it was entered in the International Furniture Contest in Cantú, Italy, where it was awarded First Place and international acclaim, despite huge competition from 438 entries from 27 countries.

Featured in Atelier Alwill’s Palm Beach project and recently published in Est Living and Belle Magazine.
The project was shortlisted in the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards, Interior Decoration Category.
