Time to consider a firepit. These Australian designed and manufactured steel or stainless firepits wrapped in Australian hardwood, that starts off as a coffee table, when removed and folded, become a bench seat. Get the Firepit going and when you are ready, slide the frame on then add a grill, hot plate, wok holder, rotisserie ….. why waste heat, you now have a bbq.

Introducing the Robata Tabo. The charcoal burning beast at 350kgs. Inspired and encouraged by for his restaurant .sydney. After many changes it’s ready to head to Sydney (soon). Four zones of heat that have separate venting that double as dust trays. Heat box is heavily insulated to retain the heat in 40mm ceramic bricks making it super efficient in charcoal use. A utility shelf under and a heavy duty drawer for charcoal. The rack over can take multiple snd combinations of stainless grills, yakitori rails for skewers and mesh grills. The rack and cooking surfaces have been electropolished for easy cleaning. Design and manufactured by . This adds to our growing Hibachi Tabo range of charcoal grills, ovens and smokers.

Binchotan Charcoal - at long last I now have plenty of stock of the 10kg boxes. Available in quantity up to pallets of 60 boxes. Over 93% carbon meaning no smoke and flame allowing the flavours of the produce to be revealed and not disguised with smoke. We currently warehouse stock in Melbourne and Perth.

Grill tops - what sort of grill top is the best? Cast iron, stainless steel or mesh. The argument will continue between caste iron and stainless. Both give really good grill line’s to the produce though the stainless appears more defined. Jury is out on which retains the heat better. There is also the school that doesn’t want lines and uses the mesh (which we also have available). We started out using cast iron but had a real problem with consistent quality of this imported product but the problem was solved when the importer stopped importing the size I had designed the Hibachi Tabo around. Hence the need to design up our own. It also made it possible to go to different sizes of hibachi. Win win. The finish we used (and still do) is glass bead blasted. This gives a really good even textured finish. We now also provide Electropolished finish. SS is made up of mainly iron, nickel and chrome. Through electrolysis, the top 2 microns of iron is removed leaving the chrome as the top surface. An amazing finish for cooking as it’s even easier to clean. At long last we are building up stocks again so they will be readily available for shipping or picking up in Melbourne at our about to be announced dealers. Quality design - beautifully made. I bought this Bang and Olufson Beomaster System with tangential arm turntable 43 years ago second hand. Still beautiful to look at and sounding superb. There is still a company in Boston hand winding the cartridges because it’s worth it. It pays to buy quality.

Push-up Challenge

I have had a bit of a torrid year health wise with a minor stroke (TIA - recovering well) and an SCC removed from my face (55 stitches that got infected). I had my confidence knocked around a bit but it absolutely pails into insignificance with the anguish and emotional roller coaster of depression and su***de.
I need a challenge and what better that the Push-up challenge. 3,318 push’s in 25 days, the same number of su***des in 2019 in Australia. I am raising money for Lifeline as a gesture of support if anyone would like to challenge me to that many pushups. Push-ups, after my last cycling accident in Adelaide, really strengthened my back and I haven’t had any painkillers for back pain since getting on the pushup program.
