The stunning original timber doors, legs and trim have been carefully preserved to showcase their beautiful book matched veneer, while the top and sides have been refinished in a soft heritage sage green.

The result is a timeless piece that blends effortlessly into modern Australian homes while celebrating its vintage character.

I’ve been working on this beast for a week. It had previously been painted in latex paint which has been a bu**er to strip, but as you can see, stripping was unavoidable. I’m no longer going to do the hutch part of this because of the time and mess taken to just strip the bottom. (I’ve never said strip so much in one post). BUT I’ve finally turned the corner and the bones are brilliant. Reveal hopefully this weekend. If you’re after a beautiful, solid sideboard, keep an eye out. It’s going to be one of my business on the outside, party on the inside pieces ….
