Coffee table from an amazing piece of Queensland Maple with two bow ties and subtle burgundy epoxy. The hard wax oil allows the grain to literally shine. The 3D effect is known as chatoyance.

Finished this Qld Maple coffee table. Simple, black trapezoidal metal legs from so as not to distract from the slab top. Finished with satin Hard Wax Oil.

Adding the finishing touches to this table refurbish today. Client (a good friend) wanted the table to be narrower so I cut down the top and made the end aprons shorter. I cut new tenons and fit it all back together. Removed the old finish and stain. New application of Hard Wax in satin. The hard wax oil really brings out the natural grain in the silky oak.
