I had to hand over custody of this 250mm gyuto in mirror polished super gold 2 damascus (63hrc) this morning. Bittersweet as the new owner is an enthusiast home cook and will get great use out of this and the matching Nakiri, but I miss the blue already.
This colour in the wood is the most vibrant I've used to date. .
I'll be uploading plenty of pics with the saya as well. .

Sometimes the class of a build is in its simplicity.
Sg2 damascus Nakiri, 180mm x 70mm. Right hand D shape handle with 416 bolster.

Bit of a detail shot of the bolster and tip of the saya. Also highlights the plunge line that changes direction with the front the bolster. It is a minor detail but it is important to me. .
This knife also has rounded and mirror polished choils and spine, and no harsh corners or jutting areas.
Knife making is so epic.

278mm K-tip Sujihiki with dyed and stabilised burl handle and saya, both of which are bookmatched.
Steel is mirror polished SG2 damascus san mai at 63hrc.

Making knives themed to a kitchen is always a fun task. This one had to match the customers industrial-esk style kitchen.
As a result we have a Gabon Ebony ferrule and saya, concrete corian spacer with stainless shims and a Californian buckeye burl handle. .
The blade is mirror polished super gold 2.
