And then there's Ulysses Unicorn.

A magnificent mix of fantasy, machinery and pure imagination, this design is packed with incredible detail that reveals something new every time you look at it. Flying Birds.

If I had to pick a favourite Mint design, Flying Birds would be right up there. A dangerous thing to admit when you've created hundreds of designs... but there it is.

I actually have Flying Birds on the TV cabinet in my own lounge room, and what I love most about it is how quietly beautiful it is. It never screams for attention. It just sits there, adding warmth, depth and a little bit of magic to the room. It feels timeless. It feels calm. And somehow it never looks out of place, no matter what else is happening around it.

This stunning piece was created by the incredibly talented Charlie from Girl in Blue Designs, who is also one of my favourite furniture artists. Charlie has a way of creating pieces that feel like they've lived a thousand stories already, and this one is no exception. The aged finish, the moody tones and those delicate birds in flight work together perfectly.

Beautiful doesn't always have to be bold.

Sometimes it's the subtle pieces that stay with you the longest.

🏆 PROJECT OF THE WEEK 🏆

This week's winner is Kelly Thorne, with this fabulous feathered duo featuring our Major Mitchell and Black Cockatoo decoupage papers. 🖤🤍

What we love most about this project is that it's matchy... but not matchy matchy.

The two bedside tables clearly belong together, but each one has its own personality and presence. The warm timber tones tie everything together beautifully, while the contrasting cockatoos create a striking statement.

It's a great example of how you can use coordinating designs to create a cohesive look without making everything identical.

Beautiful work, Kelly! 👏
