Are you ready for the EOFY?
There are only 4 weeks left until 30 June so you should be thinking about getting your accounting records prepared, organised and up-to-date.
This could be a good time to meet with your accountant to discuss EOFY planning. By keeping your accounts up to date, and essential paperwork in place you streamline the EOFY process.

Hi all, well we are at the end of the first month of 2021, how are you all surviving out there?

Just a reminder as suggested by the ATO for this new year to check you are keeping the right records for your business.

5 Rules of good record keeping:
Keep all records that are relevant to your business’s tax and super affairs.
Safely store your records in a way that protects them from being changed or damaged.
Keep most records for five years.
You need to be able to show your records if you are asked for
them.
They must be in English or easily converted to English.

Records you may need to keep include:
BPAY or PayPal records.
Tax invoices for purchases over $82.50.
Stocktake records.
A list of creditors and debtors.
Wages records (including directors' fees).
Super guarantee contributions paid to each employee and how they were calculated.

You can store and keep paper records (or hard copies) digitally. The ATO accepts images of business paper records saved on a digital storage medium, provided the digital copies are true and clear reproductions of the original paper records and meet the five rules for record-keeping.

Take just five minutes to check how well you keep your business records.
