It’s effectively an online phone book ... covering businesses, groups, clubs and organisations in Murray Bridge … as well as surrounding townships ... in a roughly 25km radius.
So it includes Monarto, Mypo, Mannum, Tailem, Jervois, Wellington, Callington.
It has a huge advantage over a printed directory ... in the fact that business owners and club representatives can claim ownership of their listing ... and update and fill out as much detail as they require … and change it as often as they like … not having to wait 12 months for the next edition ...
... and being mobile friendly means you can have a really focused local phone book in your pocket where you can quickly and easily find who you want to contact … and then tap to call. No more searching for pen or paper … or trying to remember a number!
Other advantages include the fact that listings are not just limited to name, address and phone number … you can include several mobile numbers with names (all tap to call), email, website, page, Twitter name and more.
In fact, each entry can be expanded to show a full web page available to provide a detailed description of your business or club … still all free.
Again, all listings in the directory are 100% free, and we encourage business owners and club representatives to take ownership of their listings to keep them up to date and relevant.
Our intention is to jealously guard the directory to prevent it being filled with illegitimate entries … and keep it as relevant and focused as possible.
The whole idea is to provide support for local business and organisations by providing easy access to contact details and provide awareness of all the resources we have here in the district. If we don’t look after ourselves, we’re going to continue to struggle and feel like we’re missing out.
Of course, we make no secret of the fact that we monetise the directory by selling advertising in various forms. If anyone is interested in purchasing display advertising in the directory, please check out the relevant pages on the site.
Having said that … if you don’t already have an online presence … you can still create a substantial listing absolutely free … and if you do have a website, additional links from a directory will certainly do no harm.
We encourage everyone to keep an eye out for errors or inaccuracies and to let us know when new businesses start up or others close or move so we can manage the listings properly.
