One of the best parts about working with salvaged hardwood is never really knowing what’s hiding inside.

These spotted gum boards started out rough and dirty until the planer revealed everything. Dark heartwood, pale sapwood, wild grain variation… every board comes out different.

That’s the beauty of real Australian hardwood. No prints, no veneers, no repetition. Just natural character shaped over decades of growth. Three boards. Same species. Completely different look.

✨ Temporary Admin Assistant Wanted ✨

Our admin is heading away for 3 weeks, so we’re looking for someone awesome to help keep things running smoothly at Mooloo Timber Co.

Dates required: 29th June - 17th July 2026

Duties include:
• Managing phone & email enquiries
• Creating customer profiles
• Preparing customer information ready for quoting
• Scheduling appointments & site visits
• Following up with customers
• General admin & office support

Experience with ServiceM8 is a bonus, but not essential.

We’re looking for someone organised, friendly, reliable, and confident communicating with customers.

Second round of silky oak benchtops heading out this month for .tinyhouse on the Sunshine Coast.

These were crafted from salvaged silky oak, with soft curved details and grain that adds so much warmth and character to a space.

Every slab is different, but silky oak always brings amazing grain, texture and warmth into a home, especially in tiny homes where every material choice matters.

Really loving the move toward curves in kitchens and joinery lately.

Timeless, organic and soft on the eye.

Fresh spotted gum shiplap stacked in the kiln for an exterior feature wall on a new local build.

Joe milled every board from rough sawn timber, and now they’re drying in the kiln before being moulded to final profile.

There’s something pretty special about seeing a stack like this knowing it’s becoming a feature on someone’s home for decades to come.
