Upon completing his furniture degree in Leiden, Netherlands, Spaans launched his furniture workshop in 2003—forging a reputation for standard-setting designs crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Following a successful decade in manufacture, Spaans and his partner shifted focus, relocating to Australia in 2014 and finding a home amongst the sprawling natural beauty of NSW’s Southern Highlands. Here Spaans’ relentless drive and exceptional workmanship have earned him a place amongst the region’s top furniture specialists. Guided by his belief that furniture should feel natural and intuitive within the home, a Spaans-built piece delivers more than functionality; rather, it frees the owner to live life on their terms.
