Wow.

Fantastic viz for wreck searching. Near 15m in the bay! Got some really good hits on the sonar.

Our very own Giles Foster has created an awesome video of our dives up at Lake Jindabyne. It's an awesome video as Giles edited in a short film of life in Jindabyne prior to the flooding. Seeing the bridge whole and in one piece with people and cars all over it, in stark contrast to how spooky, silent and dark it is now, is quite moving.

Day two of diving, this time on an old Homestead. Great video of everyday household items that were left behind by the residents when they were relocated by the Snowy Scheme. An old Fridge, Ovens, an old bicycle, even a shoe.

It's very erie coming across this stuff in very low viz and cold water. It gives off a very strange vibe.

Here is an action shot of the divers exiting the boat for the first dive of the day.

This weekend finds us out and diving the underwater town in Lake Jindabyne.

Here is a sneak preview of our dive this morning on the Trestle Bridge at 48m.

Viz has been low, the water is cold, but the diving has been awesome.

A while back the Wreck.Zone crew went out to an extinct Volcano in western Victoria, Australia; Lake Bullen Merri. The lake was formed by two overlapping maar volcanos and has a very distinctive clover leaf shape.

We wanted to see if we could find the bottom which is meant to be around 65m deep.

It was cold, silty, dark, but still a very fun day with a BBQ on the shore after the dive.

Enjoy the video...

Tomorrow we are off to visit some unknown marks we have. Could be nothing more than reefs. Hoping for a wreck or two.

We have some videos coming up soon: Ozone and Dominion wrecks at Indented Heads.

Well the weather has defeated us for this weekend. 3m waves with 30+ knot winds means the search will have to continue next weekend.

Now I'll have time to edit some videos that have been waiting for some free time.

The Boat ("Downtime") is back, sporting a whole new electrical system. :)

So now we are hoping to get out this weekend for some wreck hunting. The plan is to continue searching for several wrecks off Frankston and Carrum (more information on these later). It's amazing how many wrecks are in this area alone!

One wreck we are interested in is the wreck of a British warplane from the late 1940s after World War II. There is a rumour that the pilot's remains are still in the cockpit. I can't believe that the British and Australian authorities wouldn't remove the body after the accident. I am certain that his family would've wanted him to return to the U.K. Hopefully we find no remains.

If anyone knows anything more about this particular wreck, please feel free to comment.

Boat News: Downtime has been put into the boat yard to have an overhaul of her electronics. With the Magnetometer, Downscan and Sidescan sounders, WiFi, 2 VHF and UHF Radios, and Sound System, the old wiring just wasn't keeping up. Hopefully she will be back and running in about a week or two.
