If we don’t stand for something now, we will soon be forced to kneel for everything.
Building inspectors in Victoria need to Band together, look at whats happening on and ACT.
For decades we have built independent businesses through hard work, reputation, and long hours. Now large corporates are moving in to insert themselves between us and our clients.
The strategy is obvious: control the market, control the pricing, and reduce experienced inspectors to cheap subcontractors working under corporate middlemen. Just look at the energy market in Australia.
We now a maze of companies, middlemen, charging sky-high electricity bills while the corporations sit in the middle clipping the ticket.
The consumer pays more. The corporations get richer. whilst not producing anything, and the people actually doing the work get squeezed.
That is exactly the model they are trying to force onto our industry. Our businesses will become worthless,
At the same time, the Victorian Government under Jacinta Allan has pushed forward changes that will impact our industry — and the inspectors who actually do the work were never properly consulted.
Now we’re hearing that RACV is trying to recruit around 100 inspectors while also purchasing a 10% stake in Before You Buy.
Think about what that means.
Corporate consolidation. Price control. Independent inspectors pushed out.
If we stay divided, the outcome is inevitable.
The businesses we spent decades building will be slowly strangled while large corporates take the profit.
This isn’t about competition. This is about the survival of independent inspectors in Victoria.
Put egos aside. Put differences aside.
Inspectors must stand together — or we will all fall separately.
