One of the most important stages in custom joinery is the check measure. It’s where we carefully inspect every detail on-site to make sure the final result fits exactly as planned.

From plumbing locations and powerpoints to uneven walls, flooring levels, and awkward corners, we double-check everything before production begins. Even the smallest site variation can affect the final fit, so attention to detail is a huge part of the process.

And while it might not seem like a big deal, over time it adds up - especially if you're dealing with injuries, mobility issues, or simply want a kitchen that’s easier to move around in as you age.

Some things we always consider:
– Oven height: placing it at waist height can reduce strain and make it safer to handle hot trays
– Microwave position: too high, and it becomes a spill hazard - ideally, it should sit just below shoulder height
– Drawers vs. cupboards: deep drawers reduce the need to bend and reach into the back of shelves
– Corner solutions: no more awkward twisting and crouching with the right corner mechanisms
– Bench height: the standard 900mm isn’t for everyone - we can adjust to suit your needs and posture
