Oregon is often sought after for heritage-listed and period restoration projects, where matching the original timber profiles and preserving traditional details is so important.
For this project, Matty at Melbourne Heritage Woodworks carefully machined our timber to replicate the original fascia boards — creating an authentic match while retaining the character of the building.

Our Douglas Fir, specialty timber sourced from Canada provides a full spectrum of design possibilities enhancing their projects. For those who are building or renovating and would like to use timber as a feature, why not have the timber brushed , enhancing the natural grain. Your timber or ours, we can now do both.
Brushing is ideal for the use in formwork and concrete structures.

✅Our Oregon currently comes in lengths of up to 9.6m allowing builders to use a solid section of timber rather than laminated/finger jointed or plated timbers.
Our Oregon is medium to fine grain and is Free of Heart Centre, which means minimal movement as it dries.

✅For the past 8 years, our Douglas Fir / Oregon timber has been professionally treated using H3 Tru Core (clear) Azole treatment, which protects against:
✔️ Termites (white ants)
✔️ Borers
✔️ Decay

True Canadian Oregon has had a bad rep for many years being confused with similar pre cut timber from NZ, but this genuine old growth Oregon is tight grained and machines beautifully into superb skirtings - look us up and Matty at Melbourne Heritage Woodworks.
