We are certain that in the future, residential design will employ the concept of 'zoning' to create a more intimate, comfortable and functional living space.
It's predicted that the trend will eliminate the wide-open feeling that permeates most open plans today, and instead make kitchens more user-friendly and visually appealing.
The kitchen borders that distinguish one zone from another could take the form of freestanding furniture or screens, while tableware and cookware would be stored within pull-out or slide-out cabinets.

Julie and Danny Scott, who own Prestige Cabinet Company, are such a great couple!

And they loved the Business Basics grant they got from us last year. They used the $5000 to get a marketing consultant to build their audience - which went so well that they’ve grown enough to employ a new person and think about getting someone else on in 6 months!

So they were thrilled to hear, when I visited them today with Julieanne Gilbert Member for Mackay, that we’re making all our small business grants permanent. There was $39 million in last week’s Budget to do just that.

It is such a pleasure to hear these sorts of stories right across QLD and know we can play a small but important part.

Factors such as the existence of a solid internet connection, range of appliances to support ‘teching in? and social life have no doubt contributed greatly to this changeover from living room staple to kitchen must-have.
