My design & wood working journey started at school under the guidance of my wood work teachers; Mr O’Brian & Mr Waugh. The exercise was a small wood sculpture. Not having any timber, I cut the top off a fence post. In a blind spot at the back of the house of course!
The post was red gum and this was the result...it remains one of my most cherished pieces! @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

In a quiet moment of contemplation and reflection, I wonder where inspiration to design and make comes from. This photo album was made by my father while a POW in Australia with little more than a pocket knife and basic carpentry tools. The hinges and monogram beaten from a schilling piece....and, yes that’s mum and dad!.....Where do you get your inspiration?
