AHHR is looking for a secretary to join our management team. Ideal for someone with good admin skills etc Thursday mornings at our Herberton railway yard office. We are all volunteers so if interested please email, [email protected] or [email protected]
You don't have to be a train nut !!! We have a lot of really good things happening, getting a secretary would really support our team. Maybe a visit and check us out.

Following a very successful weekend of introducing Moomin station to our network, our operations team have approved the introduction of two Moomin runs on each of our future running days.
So 10am and now 12:15 departures from Herberton Railway station going to Moomin and return. These runs are 1 hour in duration. The stop at Moomin is only for the Loco to disconnect, run around, and re connect to the carriage for the return trip.
Lots to look at. We have now opened up our booking system for September 12th and 13th plus 26th and 27th, for both times.
The team at AHHR have done a fantastic job in getting this major section opened, in time and lots of $ we will get to Atherton, and that will deliver a world class heritage train experience not only for FNQ but for Australia.

Well our 10am long run to Moomin (First run this Saturday)is proving to be very popular .... both Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd are sold out ! Sunday the 6th of September (Father's day) has currently only 18 seats available. So if thinking about coming along i would encourage you to book online asap. The long run is a one hour trip.
On our running days we will still be having our standard run to bridge 20 (approx 30 minutes) at 1pm.
Everyone is very appreciated of your support and looking forward to seeing you (and your dog) all very soon.

Final training day yesterday for our train crew for taking passengers from Herberton station to Moomin station and return. At Moomin we will be disconnecting the loco, it will travel around the carriage and reconnect for its return journey back to Herberton. This trip is for 1 hour and is referred as our "Long Run" in our booking system.
Both Saturday and Sunday the 22nd-23rd of August is SOLD OUT. We still have options for our standard run at 1pm (a 30 minute ride)
This development is a major step in our journey that one day will see us running all the way to Atherton and return.
All our volunteers are looking forward to welcoming visitors to step back in time.

Great work by our train crews and refreshment room volunteers over the last two weeks, with high numbers enjoying our heritage train rides plus three great charters groups, Railway Adventures, Great value Holidays and Glenbrook Vintage Railway from Auckland New Zealand.

This Saturday the 1st of August all members of AHHR are invited to attend a general meeting at the railway refreshment room.

Men's Shed meeting: 1130

BBQ Lunch : 1200

AHHR General meeting : 1300

On completion of the meetings, all members are welcome to take a ride on the section car to see the progress we have achieved up to Moomin Station.
