Zeb designed and crafted this wardrobe out of stained recycled Mountain Ash, to complement the existing furniture in the bedroom, which he created a few years prior. To address the need for additional hanging space and storage for clothing, the wardrobe features ample hanging space on both sides, along with adjustable shelves below.

Adding a playful touch, Zeb incorporated stained glass squares that are beautifully illuminated from behind, brightening the darker corner of the room where the wardrobe is located. The interior lights turn on automatically when the cabinet is opened and can also be activated manually when closed, creating a gentle ambiance that transforms into a comforting nightlight, filling the space with a warm, inviting glow.

“I design and create entirely unique environments that remind us of our uniqueness and our true purpose.

Whenever someone asks me to design a piece of furniture, a kitchen, doors, or anything else for their home or business, I always start by visiting the space. While I’m there, I reflect on what that space means to them and how it can best represent their identity. Design ideas emerge when I ask these questions; it’s like tapping into a creative flow.

I often receive feedback from my customers that their new pieces transform how they feel in their spaces, bringing a renewed sense of calmness and joy to their lives. I like to believe that these pieces not only reflect but also inspire my customers to embrace their unique selves.

I have been quiet on this platform for the past years because I have been undergoing my own transformation and embracing more of my life’s purpose. Together with my wife, Dee, I’ve been busy building a massage and energy healing studio on our land. I’ve been practicing for the last year, which has taken up much of my time and attention, alongside crafted unique environments with my woodwork, artwork and scupltures.”

This exquisite hall table, lovingly crafted by Zeb, was created for one of our cherished long-term clients using timber that holds deep sentimental value for them. The wood was carefully collected by a beloved family member, a recently departed woodworker who passed down their passion for craftsmanship.

Every inch of this piece reflects not just the artistry of Zeb, but the rich history and affection intertwined with the wood itself. It harmonizes beautifully with our client’s existing furniture, also crafted by Zeb, each element telling a story of love, legacy, and the timeless beauty of handcrafted artistry. This hall table isn’t just a piece of furniture; it’s a heartfelt tribute to family, memories, and the art of woodworking.

Zeb was initially hesitant to work with timber that was cut in an unusual way, as shown in the video he sent to the clients before starting the crafting process. However, it ultimately became the highlight of the tabletop, showcasing a stunning end grain pattern on its surface.

This dining table is showcasing a lot of character and was crafted from a Mountain Ash flitch, which had fallen and was processed on a property in Toolangi a few years ago. The table base and feature stripes are painted black to complement the black door frames in the house and kitchen. Zeb designed the table top lay-out to tie in with the square inlays in the doors he previously designed and crafted.

We love working with our customers long term!

Over 20 years ago our customer purchased one of the first dining tables sold through our shop in Eltham.
Zeb received a phone call explaining that upon moving she realised that the square table was not going to work and could he help her find a loving new home even though she was very unhappy to see it go. Zeb suggested to change the table instead and after some thought our customer mentioned that a few hall tables could work well. Zeb visited the new house to look at the space and picked up the existing table.
He felt a strong sense of three different designs to suit three separate rooms and asked her permission to have creative license. The following images show the result.

I made a pleasing discovery on this recent bar installation for some special long term clients. It seems that furniture can be art, or at least connect to it, in a fun and interesting way.

My clients returned after 16 years, their home already filled with many creative hand made pieces, now wanting to add a bar and entertaining space to compliment an existing Zeb piece, giving the room a Jazz-up and splash of fresh new Zeb to create a welcoming and intriguing feel to their home.

I have always seemed to have my ideas flow as I sit at the computer just after meeting and discussing the requirements with my clients but the idea to combine and integrate an artwork with a furniture piece came to me as a kind of dream/vision upon waking the morning I was to meet the customers at their Brighton home.

I am always grateful when clients are willing to trust in the rather interesting process that takes place when my ideas go from ink on paper through the work of my well practiced hands, to the finished work in their home. This particular instance is a notable example of daring trust, becoming something very special indeed.

Picture if you will, the moment I arrived to take some measurements and listen to what needs to happen in the space, after which I spoke of a dream I had with a big circle handle running through a set of glass doors and out to continue though a painting with a changing wide blue line that then becomes coloured glass back in the same glass doors. Let me add here that the clients are passionate and tasteful art collectors and had no idea that I have also been painting as long as I have been making furniture. The husband and wife could have pointed to the door shaking their heads but instead said “ok, let’s do it.”

This bar/artwork, being on a timber floor with large wooden furniture nearby had to be less wood orientated, be able to store glasses and bottles and I integrated a bar fridge for practical and seamless entertaining.

The walnut stained rock maple handle has carved rune like designs inlayed with 23 ct gold leaf adding a mysterious feeling to the design.
