I introduce my self as Gavin Paul to you all, and my confession is that I'm an artist. My talent is not specific to one stream within the art world, but its filled with many streams and I traverse them all, sometimes crossing a few over, to create unique pieces of art work to share with you all. I have dabbled in working with aluminum for over 8 years, building computer c

ases and also modifying existing ones for friends and clients and also just as a hobby. I work with wood, from household furniture to clocks you hang on your wall, this was first inspired to me through my father and his love at the time for it. I also have worked with acrylic for many a year and have etched many a piece for computer cases and also just to hang on the wall at home. I dont want to restrict myself to the study of just one thing, my life is too short and I hope to fill it with more and more skills as I grow as an artist and in turn I will be able to create unique pieces in which I hope will tantalize your eyes and hearts.

Every now and then, we do things that even excel our own expectations, we rise above and beyond our standard skill levels and create a thing of beauty, and this happened to me recently. I collected 4 tables and 20 chairs, 2 sets of tables and chairs are very vintage another is colonial type modernish and the fourth, which is the one I have been working on is, mid 70's style table. I decided to add in a pattern and this is the third attempt at getting it to absolute perfection in the design and I finally achieved it. Each side I believe is as true as I can humanly get it, I'm very proud of this design, but not everyone sees your vision, and this has been the case, a client liked the table but not the design and I had to sand it off, which is sad, coz it was pretty amazing if I do say so myself. Here are some progress pics of what could have been.

Slowly getting there, sanded the drawer/buffet cabinet back to its original timber, which looks like floating timber boards were used. Then proceeded to tape it up, which took up most of the day, there's a few things that arent right, but eventually they will be.
