Setting a room is about more than simply placing furniture.

It’s about creating balance through scale, texture and tone. Considering how each piece relates to the next, how you move through the space, and where the eye naturally rests.

We like to build our room settings slowly. Layering natural materials, collected objects, soft lighting and pieces with character until the space begins to feel lived in rather than styled.

Mood changes with the light.

As the day moves into evening, the way we light our homes should change with it.

Rather than relying on downlights and bright overhead lighting, think in layers. A pendant casting a warm glow over the dining table. A lamp softly illuminating the corner of a room. Candlelight flickering across the table as dinner stretches into the evening.

These lower, warmer sources of light create intimacy, depth and atmosphere in a way that overhead lighting simply can’t.

Turn off the downlights. Light the candles. Switch on the pendants.

This is a setting display we did some time ago but for those who are new to following us, we felt it was a relevant moment to reshare. The product is still relevant and we are still working with new with old, rustic with refined, the ying and yang of variations is just what makes the imperfect, perfect.

Today’s focus was reimagining our showroom, planning new room settings, layering textures, refining colour palettes and considering how every piece will sit together to create spaces that feel intentional, calm and lived in.

Every display you walk through begins long before the furniture is moved. It’s a process of editing, evolving and thoughtfully curating so each setting tells a story and inspires the next home.
