Brookwood Guitars Brookwood Guitars crafts handmade cigar box guitars, mostly out of reclaimed Australian timber. This led me into the fascinating world of “Cigar Box Guitars”.

The “Cigar Box Guitar” was born out of hard times during the great depression of the 1930’s. It was particularly popular in the American South, where sitting on the front porch and singing the blues was a popular pastime. Recently I became intrigued with the open tuning on guitars, what songs to play and how to play them. I love the adage “there ain’t no rules for CBG’s” and the freedom of express
