Hi, I'm Alison, owner of The Little French Provincial Shop and creator of Artisan Paints. My passion is for recreating beauty in time-worn vintage and antique furniture. With a little love, these beautifully made antiques, can be restyled to bring a touch of elegance into your home. It's been another busy week behind the scenes at The Little French Provincial Shop!

We've been painting, finishing, fussing and rearranging, and there are some lovely new pieces that have made their way onto the shop floor.

We've just added a gorgeous little bedside cabinet and a pair of elegant French Provincial side tables, along with a few new smalls that are perfect for adding a little French country charm to your home.

There's always something happening here, and with stock changing from week to week, you never quite know what you'll discover when you pop in.

So if you're out and about this weekend, why not take a little drive to Gundaroo and come for a wander? We'd love to see you.

You know when you've got a particular look in mind, but you just can't find what you're looking for?

I wanted a couple of old books for some French country styling. Something soft, aged and a little timeworn, with just a hint of faded blue.

Couldn't find quite what I wanted, so I made my own!

Two ordinary secondhand books, a little Artisan Natural Chalk Finish, some pretty blue floral transfers and a bit of distressing later… here we are.

I think they turned out rather nicely!

Just goes to show, sometimes you don't need to find the perfect piece. You just need a little paint and an idea.

And that's one of the things I love about having Artisan products here at The Little French Provincial Shop. You can create those little touches that make your home feel just the way you imagined.

Sometimes it's the simplest projects that are the most satisfying.

There's something rather lovely about an old-fashioned country kitchen.

A favourite mixing bowl, a well-used wooden rolling pin, beautiful tea towels and a jar of delicious homemade jam.

Our bee-inspired kitchen linens look right at home amongst the everyday treasures that make a kitchen feel warm and welcoming.

My heart is breaking for France.

A country I have always loved and admired, not just for its beauty, history and culture, but for its extraordinary spirit and timeless charm.

To see images of unrest, violence and destruction in a country that holds such a special place in my heart fills me with profound sadness.

France is so much more than its beautiful buildings, charming villages and magnificent cities. It is its people, its traditions, its heritage and the generations who have worked to preserve them.

Whatever the frustrations, divisions or differences, it is heartbreaking to see anger and destruction overshadow so much that is beautiful.

I hope for peace, understanding and a way forward that protects both the people of France and the extraordinary heritage they share with the world.

La belle France, my heart is with you.

Meet Madame Claudette… she's over 100 years old!

And she's still making beautiful bread!

Madame Claudette is our wonderful 100-year-old French sourdough starter, and she's the very same starter we use in our own kitchen to bake our homemade sourdough bread.

Now you can take a little of that French baking tradition home with you.

We've put together a beautiful Sourdough Bread Making Kit, perfect for anyone who's ever dreamed of baking their own crusty, golden sourdough.

Each kit includes:

- Dehydrated Madame Claudette sourdough starter
- Glass starter jar
- Danish dough whisk
- Mixing spatula
- Bread lame for scoring
- Full instructions for rehydrating, feeding and maintaining your starter, plus our sourdough bread recipe

Beautifully presented and ready to gift, although we wouldn't blame you for keeping one for yourself!
