The Donchi Family own and operate several businesses in Echuca and Moama, including Nullarbor Sustainable Timber and Perricoota Vines Retreat. Nullarbor Timber and Perricoota Vines employ Zane to collect, deliver and post their mail each day. Being two of the first businesses to enthusiastically welcome the pioneering business model and concept (that a special needs young adult could be actively, meaningfully and purposefully engaged in the real world of work), other local businesses were soon to follow their ground breaking lead. Zane’s Mail & Courier Service proudly serves 15 local businesses, personally, professionally and with care and attention. Years ago, when Zane was 14 years of age, he wrote in answer to a question posed by his teacher at the local specialist school – What Do You Really Like Doing? And helping people. Zane’s incredible memory, abundant nature and personality and greatest wish (to be helpful) is able to be fulfilled each day by this not for profit business model which draws on his skills and attributes. Zane now has a place in this world, in this community and in the world of work where he is safe, feels a sense of belonging, is included, and continues to grow, learn and give. With the leadership shown by the Donchi Family and their business partners – Brendan and Mandy, Belinda and Bill, Zane has had a chance to engage in meaningful work, as a team member, in an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.
