Righto, who remembers having one of these.
Tin money boxes.
Probably most of these would date from the 1960's or 70's.
Seeing the C B A money box reminds me of a time when as a fledgling electrical salesman I had sold an old bloke a radio on time payment and part of the process apart from asking the obvious questions, like name address etc., one question that required a response was what bank was he using, to wit his reply was A B C BANK.
My response was , politely, was that there was no A B C bank on Dalby, but he was adamant that he banked A B C.
A bit more discussion ensued, then in frustration he ripped out his passbook and slammed down on the desk , there he said , THE A B C BLOODY BANK!
Upon seeing the said passbook, I politely informed him that it was in fact the C B A bank, then not to be outdone, he simply replied, OH, I WALK BACKWARDS PAST IT SOMETIMES !
I was lost for words.
Footnote: His application for finance for the radio through, in those halcyon days , AGC , was declined!
Poor credit history i think was the stated reason
