This recently completed Murphy Door was custom made from solid American Oak, featuring solid timber shelving and cabinetry, veneerboard backing, and architrave.
It’s fitted with heavy-duty hinges rated to an impressive 230kg, ensuring this hidden door is built to last as well as impress.

After nearly 10 years under Coops Creative and nearly 35 years in the trade, we decided it was finally time to take the leap and expand the business. 🙌

The past few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind — organising electricians to upgrade the lighting, installing 3-phase power, hiring scissor lifts and forklifts, and somehow finding ways to move some seriously heavy and awkward machinery!

But we’re in, we’re set up, and we’re back doing what we love — creating bespoke masterpieces. 🔨

There’s plenty more room to create, build and bring some pretty awesome ideas to life.

There’s no better compliment than a client coming back for another piece✨️

After being so pleased with Glen’s craftsmanship on previous projects, this valued client returned to have a custom piece created to help complete their home.

Crafted from solid Jarrah, this beautiful 1100mm-high card table features a tabletop laminated on edge using 200 x 30mm planks, with legs made from solid 90 x 90mm Jarrah. The entire base was constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, ensuring both strength and longevity.

Every component was carefully measured, precision cut, and handcrafted by Glen, resulting in a striking piece that showcases the natural beauty of the timber and the quality that comes from true craftsmanship.

When a builder approached Coops Creative to craft a 10-foot (3-metre) high Victorian Ash archway for a heritage-listed home in Ascot, we knew it would be a project that demanded both precision and craftsmanship.

This unique commission gave Glen the opportunity to showcase his specialist timber-bending skills. The arch was designed not only as a striking architectural feature, but also to accommodate a custom steel and glass door, adding another layer of complexity to the build.

Because the home's original heritage features had to remain intact, the new archway needed to seamlessly integrate with the existing fretwork and architectural details. To achieve a perfect fit, the existing structure was carefully templated before the arch was crafted, ensuring the new work moulded perfectly into the heritage fabric of the home.

The process required extensive timber bending, with Glen building a custom steam box specifically for the project. The arch itself consisted of 12 laminations, with the steaming and bending completed in batches of six laminations at a time to achieve the required form and structural integrity.

The result is a stunning Victorian Ash arch that not only complements the home's original character but also provides the perfect frame for the new steel and glass door. A challenging project from start to finish, but one that delivered an incredible outcome.

Throwing it back to the very first commissioned piece for Coops Creative Designs, created when we first established in February 2017.

This bespoke mobile kitchen bench was handcrafted from beautiful Australian Red Cedar and finished with a stunning stone benchtop, creating a timeless statement piece for the kitchen. The turned legs were custom made to our client’s specifications, giving the piece a unique and personal touch.

We’re incredibly proud that the client loved this piece so much, they have since commissioned two additional bespoke creations from us.
