Repair Cooperative

Repair Cooperative Together we fix, mend and teach each other skills to keep stuff out of landfill. We host a repair cafe at the Hughes Community Centre. See repaircafe.org. Thanks!

Bring your broken clothes, furniture and household objects. We are a community group of volunteers working together to fix and recycle everyday things. Come visit us and fix things together, from 10-1pm on the second Saturday of every month, at the Canberra Environment Centre. We are currently looking for new volunteers to assist with social media, so if we can't get back to you, please try contacting the Canberra Environment Centre.

Thanks to all the visitors and volunteers who joined us at the Hughes Repair Cafe last weekend. The repairs added up to 20kgs saved from landfill! Our amazing repairers darned jumpers, revived a vacuum cleaner, sharpened tools, rehooked earrings and restrung a ukulele, among many other repairs.

The next Hughes Repair Cafe will be on Saturday 12 September. We are looking for more volunteers, both repairers and people who can help with the reception desk (no repair skills needed!). If you are interested, please message us.
