Struggling with heat, glare and poor sleep? This Surrey Hills home was too…

They already had plantation shutters, but the harsh western sun, winter chill and light sneaking through the louvres just weren’t working — especially with little ones trying to sleep.

Some suggested adding curtains inside the bay… but that would’ve blocked their beautiful outlook and natural light.

So we took a different approach.

We designed a custom bent track on the outside wall, paired with tailored box pleat curtains — so when open, they sit neatly back on the wall, not across the glass.

This meant they could still enjoy the view and daylight during the day and then close everything up when they needed warmth and darkness … and much better sleep for the whole family 💛

Glen Iris Project ☀️❄️

Beautiful architecture… but challenging to live with.

This stunning north-facing glazed atrium was creating extreme heat in summer and major heat loss in winter, leaving the tenants uncomfortable and facing high energy bills.

Called in by the property management team, we visited site with the Verosol installation crew to design a solution that would solve the problem without compromising the architecture.

✨ Now the space can be fully controlled — blocking light, heat and cold when needed while still preserving the beauty of the glazing.

A fantastic win-win outcome for the owners, tenants and property managers.

In collaboration with , this space was reimagined with a shared vision for refinement. While the interior design team selected this richly saturated teal from Domestic Textile Corporation, we were entrusted with designing the curtains — ensuring the scale, structure and fall complemented the architecture and elevated the room.
