One of the biggest misconceptions about dog daycare is that dogs should be playing from drop off until pick up.
In reality, good daycare is all about balance.
Play is important, but so is rest. Just like people, dogs can become overtired, overstimulated, and make poorer social choices when they don’t get enough downtime.
That’s why all of our daycare dogs enjoy two scheduled rest periods throughout the day. During these quiet times, engagement is kept to a minimum, the lights are dimmed, and calming music is played to help everyone switch off and recharge.
Some dogs also spend time in our Sleepy Snouts Suites for their lunchtime break, while others may spend additional time there if they benefit from a little extra rest during the day.
A balanced day is a better day, and we find that regular rest periods help create calmer, happier, and more successful daycare experiences for our dogs. 🐾💤
