Our Oval Shaker Boxes are produced by Jude Legg from our Brisbane Workshop. We make our boxes by using traditional shaping methods, American Cherry timber and authentic copper rivets sourced from Shaker Suppliers in Mount Lebanon USA. The American Cherry is a prized hardwood that we have selected due to its flexibility, smooth grain, warm reddish-brown color and light pink flecks or patina. American Cherry timber bends well due to its flexible nature. This flexibility makes it perfect for building the Oval Shaker Box.

This particular music box plays the song, "Simple Gifts." Rotate the handle underneath the box to let the music begin.

This past weekend Timbo's Shop headed to New South Wales country town of Glen Innes for The Stitcher's Merchant Retreat. Jude was invited to the Retreat to display his Oval Shaker Boxes and was so encouraged by the response!
We were able to display Oval Shaker Boxes in sizes 5 and 7, Music Boxes in size 2 and a carry-all basket with fixed handle in size 4. Our newest edition, the huge size 8 Oval Shaker Box, was also on display.
The Sticher's Retreat was a wonderful display of the industriousness of Australians. From the busy hands, creative minds and commitment of the attendees to the homegrown Aussie businesses The Stitcher's Merchant, Fox & Rabbit & Timbo's Shop.
Thank you to the Retreat organiser, Tam Lamson, for inviting us and for your kindness- you hosted an inspiring and truly lovely event and attracted such a friendly group of ladies. Thank you, Libby, for your warm welcome-you made us feel so welcome. A huge thankyou to all the ladies who purchased Oval Shaker Boxes. Thank you to the generous ladies who allowed us to display the Oval Shaker Boxes they purchased when our stock ran out-amazing!
Finally, a shout out to the New England Motor Lodge at Glen Innes. We experienced wonderful hospitality; clean, modern, comfortable, quiet accommodation; and an amazing restaurant complete with log beams, wingback chairs, fireplaces, and hearty food.
